Across the Ta-Chine river from our resort lies a 15-acre piece of land which used to be fruit orchards and paddy fields. For many years now, Sampran Riverside has been working with the local community to bring back the farm to its former glory. The organic farm project is managed by local villagers and Sampran Riverside and is now certified by IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), EU and COR (Canada Organic Regime). There, we grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and lotus with fertilizers made from waste materials such as leaves. At the back of the farm, we are also training our water buffalos to plough the paddy fields. The organic produces are used in our restaurants and as raw materials for our herbal products with the remaining sold at our Weekend Farmers’ Market. Our goal is to be a model farm for the local community to go back to their organic ways and stop using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
