In the travel industry, the term “transfer” generally means to transport tourists from one
destination to another. Transfer services are usually included in package tours. Transfer details
usually appear in tour itineraries; “transfer-in” times (from the airport to the hotel) and “transfer-out”
times (from the hotel to the airport) are clearly set out for the tourists.
Because most airports are located far from the city center, ground transportation services have
to be provided. This kind of service (often called an airport taxi or limousine service) is usually
operated by a concessionaire. The service offers convenient, safe and comfortable transfers.
However, the fare is higher than most public means of transportation such as buses, taxis and trains,
which, of course, are also available for tourists.
