he "other commercial services" represented overall one third of total commercial services
exports of LDCs, a share which is significantly below than the average of other developing
countries (43.8%) as well as developed economies (59.4%).11 While lack of data could be an
important reason for underperformance, it is a fact that poor infrastructure, limited skills and lack
of financial resources, continue to hinder LDCs' exports especially in higher segments of service
trade. In 2012, exports of computer and information services represented 1% of LDCs' total
commercial services exports. Insurance services and royalties and licence fees stood below 1%.12
