My place of dwellings was a tent in the bush sleeping on the floor. First given a mattress but there was something in the mattress (probably bed bugs),I refused to use it, so instead I slept in mats on the floor. These tents had no lights, they were under the trees in the bush. One evening I was bitten by a spider,as I killed it the next morning .It was a white back spider (same as the red backs that come Australia they are poisonous).I got very ill from this. I become delirious. The company manager thought I had malaria and sent me to the bush doctor and he tested and said yes, I had Malaria. When I returned to the camp, the manager then sent me to Nampula to gave me checked out, at a proper medical center. Blood tests where taken and they were negative. So the company manager had me stay at his house on the weekend to re-cooperate, but instead the matter worsened. I was then sent to a doctor in Nampula for further medical tests. I had to cover all my own blood tests. The doctor said I was bitten by a spider. And I told him I killed one in the tent. He gave me medicines. Due to the spider bite, my wounds turned to cellulitis. Generally speaking I was having a cellulitis attack caused by the spider bite. Running very high temperatures. This going on for 3 days whilst in the bush and another 3 days in the Nampula.
Mr. Agbert asked me to collect all my items which I had purchased (groceries, my wok, pan) I was told to leave my rice (Keow neow - worth 2500 bath) at the camp. Then he put all my items in his car and took it to his house. Little known to me, he was keeping it for himself. And my rice would feed the boys on the site.
The following day he, Mr. Agbert and his family member working on the site., packed my suitcase, took me out of the bed, as I was delirious, not knowing what was going on. Bought an air ticket and taken to the airport. At the airport I had to be transported to the plane in a wheelchair, as I could not help myself. He told me he has to wait a period of 2 months, as he had insufficient material to continue with the mine and he was waiting for 3 containers to be delivered from China. That I should go home and get myself right, phone him and come back. This I have done, as per receipts from the doctor that I have from hospitals. I phoned him and told him that I am coming. He said I must come in via South Africa, as there were cheaper flights from Johannesburg to Nampula
