It was 7/3/09, I went to the gym to go for my morning workout. After I finished my workout it was around 11am and I was ready to go home and get ready for work. Little did I know I wasn't going to make it to work that day or for over a couple of months. I got on my bike and started it up, I had a 2000 Suzuki Katana 750. Now from what I remember I sat on the bike for about 5 minutes catching my breath from running on the tread mill. After I got done resting I casually backed out of the parking lot and pulled up to the corner to turn on to the main road. From this point on I dont remember what happened, everything else that follows has been told by family and witnesses. I turned out on to 27th and started heading south. Now for a 20 year old male, Im sure it would come to no shock that I was doing between 60-70mph in a 55. About a mile or two down the road I slammed into the back of a 96 Buick doing between 60-70mph. When I hit the car I flew over it, as I was flying over it the car did a 360 and came to a safe stop and thankfully nobody was injured. When I finally hit the ground my jaw was the first to hit the pavement and thankfully absorbed most of the impact and then from there my face rolled into the ground and then the rest of my body hit the ground. When the accident was all over with in the split seconds that it took to occur the couple that I hit came rushing over. They wrapped my head in towels and then called 9-1-1. I was air lifted to the hospital and was sent dirrectly to the O.R. and at that point is where my doctors saved my life. From my accident I broke my bottom jaw in 3 places and recieved multiple small fractures in my face, the muscle that holds my tongue to my jaw was torn and made my tongue fall back and close up my air way, both lungs collapsed, my throat and nose were flooded with blood and my left wrist and ankle were fractured. Im very fortunate to have no brain damage, and not be paralyzed. I spent only a month in ICU and was released and still continue to make a quick recovery
