By comparing the absorption peaks in the spectrum of RP and SP, obvious change of absorption peaks can be observed. For SP, reduced absorption peak can be found at 3408 cm−1, this is due to the fact that the hydroxyl groups of RP are replaced. In addition, increased absorption peak can be found at 2921 cm−1 also and a new absorption peak appears at 691 cm−1, which is assigned to the presence of out-of-plane bending vibration of Csingle bondH in benzene ring. This result indicates that styrene have been coated on the surface of RP, which can be confirmed by previous study (Wang, Zheng, & Wang, 2013a).
