3-bromopyruvic acid is taken up in yeast cells
by the glucose-repressible lactate /pyruvate transporter Jen1p
At external pH05.0 of minimal (YNB) medium the minimal
inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 1.95 mM 3-BP inhibits the
growth of the parental strain W303-1A (Fig. 1a).
