Owing to their application potential in the
manufacture of packaging films and molded parts,
where reduction in price without any compromise on
toughness and transparency is desirable, it is of great
practical importance to design an application relevant
block copolymer morphology and simultaneously
optimize the processing parameters for their blends
with general purpose polystyrene. Thus, future studies
should concentrate on the impact of block copolymer
architecture and processing conditions on the morphology
formation and deformation behavior of block
copolymer/PS blends. Further, the requirements for
the toughness enhancement in binary block copolymer
blends should by clarified by the analysis of
micromechanical processes of deformation.
