I said at the start that I wanted to revisit conventional assessment practice from the point of view of someone who has been away from it for a while. I've done that and while I am encouraged by some of the changes I have seen and see here today, there is still a very long way to go before we can have assessment practices which are educationally defensible and seriously contribute to the kinds of learning we most desire. I am encouraged to see that the University is taking these issues seriously.
