1.0 PURPOSE :
1.1 To ensure that newly hired employees are free from criminal records.
1.2 To ensure that contractor personnel are free from criminal records.
1.3 To ensure that shareholders of newly approved vendors/suppliers contractor are free from COI with
Seagate employees.
2.0 SCOPE :
2.1 This policy applies to all sites/operations of Seagate Technology (Thailand).
2.2 This policy applies to all newly hired employees, shareholders of vendors/suppliers, and contractor
personnel seeking for positions/contracts at Seagate Technology (Thailand).
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :
3.1 Staffing Section is responsible for providing STTH Security Section with potential candidates’
names, addresses, and ID card numbers for the background screening before any job is offered.
3.2 Purchasing Section is responsible for providing STTH Security Section with shareholder namelists of
vendors/suppliers for screening on potential COI with Seagate employee before become active in
Vendor Approved List.
3.3 Project owners (sections sponsoring contractor/outsource firms) are responsible for providing STTH
Security Section with a copy of government ID and the result of Criminal records check with police
before they are assigned to work in Seagate facilities.
3.4 STTH Security Section is responsible for the background screening process with outsource
company that contract with Seagate to process criminal record checking with Criminal Records
Division (CRD) at Royal Thai police Headquarter in Bangkok. Background screening results are to
be reported to those requesting for the screening within 14 working days.
3.5 STTH Security Section is responsible for record keeping of Background screening results for 10
years according to IAM requirement.

5.0 DEFINITION / TERMINOLOGY :
5.1 Employee : A person working directly for Seagate Technology and compensated via the Seagate
payroll.
5.2 Contractor/Outsource/Vendor/Supplier : A representative of a non-Seagate business firm who is
supplying the operation with services under an existing contract.
5.3 Criminal records/Drugs involvement records : Felonies and misdemeanors listed at the Royal Thai
Police Office (Criminal Records Section).
5.4 COI : Conflict Of Interest.
5.5 CRD : Criminal Records Division of Royal Thai police.
6.0 PROCEDURE :
6.1 For newly hired employees :
6.1.1 When an applicant becomes a potential candidate for a job position with Seagate, Staffing
Section will submit the candidate’s name, a copy of ID card and Criminal Records checking
consent form signed by candidate to Security Section for the background screening.
6.1.2 STTH Security Section submit the candidate’s information from staffing to contractor whom
process criminal background check with CRD, and reports the result to STTH Security
Section within 14 working days.
