A study performed by Ali et al. (2002) recorded significant decreases in growth parameters for P. australis at copper concentrations equal or higher than 78.7 lM. However, that study was performed in hydroponic conditions. In fact, there is a lack of studies on the effects of copper in P. australis growth under simulated environmental conditions, especially in conditions simulating salt marsh areas.
