Wendy, Tim, and Tess looked forward tothis day each year. The mayor of their town chose one day each fall. He declared it "Community Day." Everyone had fun on Community Day. All the stores closed. The people in town gathered on the town square. Many people set up booths. Some booths sold handmade scarves. Some booths sold homemade candy. Some booths sold Christmas ornaments. Some booths sold picture frames. There was only one rule. Anything sold must be made by a citizen of the town. The mayor liked to bring the people of the town together this way.
