To make the adsorption process more economical, it
would be necessary to regenerate the spent adsorbent. After
the attainment of equilibrium, the supernatant were
carefully decanted and desorption experiments were carried
out by using either distilled water or an aqueous medium of
0.5 M HCl. Experiments were performed by shaking 1 g of
wheat bran with 100 ml of solution (Gloaguen and Morvan,
1997a). To regenerate, the same procedure was followed for
three cycles. All the experiments were performed in
duplicate and mean values are presented.
