It is not surprising that among the selected strains C. saccharophila and Scenedesmus sp. were identified as fit for biodiesel production in treated wastewater used as culture media. Previous researches [3], [30], [31] and [35] also reported that Chlorella sp. and Scenedesmus sp. can be used for treatment of different wastewater streams such as primary settled wastewater, settled and activated sewage, animal manure and industrial wastewater etc., suggesting such species could tolerate and survive different types of wastewater streams.
