Based on the schema theory, we suggest that teachers should provide students with
as various reading materials as possible, leading to more input as Krashen suggests.
Through more access to reading stories and evaluating different modes of construct,
students gain valuable experience to deepen and expand their consciousness of the
richness of life. A short story, a newspaper article, a letter, an advertisement, or a
poem can work as a content to provide for writing. Other activities such as
summaries, responses, outlining or pre-reading writing are believed to be useful to
examine and facilitate reading comprehension.
