This paper reports on some of the findings of a 24-month field study and 19 semi-structured formal interviews with managers and senior executives of the supply chain management department of one of the largest global cruise line corporations. The main research questions for this study are: What are the challenges of managing a global supply chain with dynamic supply locations, and what characterizes this unique domain of service supply chain? This paper is divided into six main sections: section one being the in- troduction, section two examines existing literature, section three deals with methodological and scope issues, sections four and five report on findings, and the sixth section includes the conclusions and implications.
