The purpose of this paper is to propose a set of managerial practices to improve
construction supply chain management. Such proposition is based on a literature
review of SCM, considering mainstream journals of construction/industrial
engineering and the proceedings of the last nineteen conferences of the International
Group for Lean Construction (IGLC). The literature review discusses the evolution of
the lean SCM theory in the construction industry over the last years and introduces
research findings from traditional manufacturing as possible approaches for the
improvement of construction supply chain management.
