A commercial sample of furcellaran was provided by ASEstagar (Estonia). Sea buckthorn juice was made from berries harvested in Estoniain, 2003. The berries were crushed with a mixer, and juice was pressed out using a conventional juice press to obtain the yield of 69% (w/w). The juice had a pH of 2.9 and β-carotene content of 11.5 mg/100 g
