Model studies on single 100 lm phenoxy nanocomposite filaments
embedded in RTM6 precursors demonstrate that the nanofillers
are passively convected by the interdiffusion gradient
driven by the chemical potential. Nanocomposites diffuse over distances
around 800 lm. Although the Raman analysis method does
not allow quantification of the local nanofiller concentration profile
after diffusion beyond a low threshold, there is no reason to
believe that the phenoxy carrier concept cannot be extrapolated
to high overall nanofiller concentrations.
