Champassak has launched a 24-hour taxi service in the provincial capital Pakxe. To start with three taxis will first under the with a charge of the kilometre and 6,000 kip for the second and successive kilometres regardless the number of passengers.The service will be offered between local markets, the bus station, airport, and shopping malls in the city centre. The government has authorised a private company to operate the business. The authorities planto increase the number from three to five in the near future.
