A key concern for educators, policymakers and parents is ensuring the safety of children who use the online services accessed through mobile education technologies. Safeguarding children involves the elimination or mitigation of various risks, such as access to illegal or inappropriate content and communication, mobile bullying, or undue financial burden that could affect students using the mobile service. The GSMA is actively engaged with a number of organisations that address these issues, including Teachtoday, the Family Online Safety Institute and the ITU’s Child Online Protection initiative.
