Deputy Director
Mekong Institute
พฤษภาคม 2013 – พฤษภาคม 2014 (1 ปี 1 เดือน)Khon Kaen, Thailand
In May 2013 I was appointed Deputy Director for Programs at the Mekong Institute (MI), based in Khon Kaen (North East Thailand) and in this role was responsible for programmes and strategic organisational development.
MI is an 'inter-government organisation', focused on economic growth and development in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) - Cambodia, the People's Republic of China (PRC, specifically Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Initially established between the governments of Thailand and New Zealand, MI is now owned by all six governments of Thailand, China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. MI builds capacity and human resource development in the governments, in development-aid projects, SMEs, Chambers of Commerce and partner organisations in order to facilitate the alleviation of poverty through economic growth and development.
The institute implements capacity building and development programmes in the areas of rural development, trade and investment, and human migration along the economic corridors between the countries of the GMS. The organisation currently has a focus strategically increasing its reach, impact and scope.
