We found that both exercise training groups reduced fasting blood glucose concentration and insulin resistance as estimated by HOMA. How ever, HbAlc, a longterm marker of glycemic control,decreased significantly only in the INT group. The seson for the better glycemic control in the INT group is not know.But it may likely be related to the increased insulin signaling, insulinstimulated glucose transport
(Frosig et al.,2007). And/or glucose transporter (GLUT-4) protein (Christ-Roberts et al.,2004). Previous study has indicated that PGC-1α,acritical coordinator for activation of metabolic genes required for substate utilization and mitichodrial biogenesis,was increased by 138% eith Interval exercise training in vastus lateralis muscles of patients with the metabolic syndrome, but this was not observed with moderate continuous training (Tjonna et al.,2008). Total SIRT1 content,aproposed activator of PGC-α.,andtotalGLUT-4 protein content were significantly increased
