General Motors is challenging Google’s self-driving car with its latest Chevrolet FNR autonomous car concept. Taking the stage at Shanghai Auto Show for the first time, GM showed off the futuristic car’s capabilities.
The incredibly futuristic design of the Chevrolet-FNR concept turned more than a few heads at the Shanghai Auto Show. Unlike Google’s adorable looking tiny autonomous car, FNR takes the driverless cars to the next level with its Tron-like design and stylish dragonfly dual swing doors.
The vehicle also comes with gesture controls that allows the driver to switch to manual driving when necessary. Power buttons doesn’t exist in this vehicle, instead it has iris recognition technology that starts the electric car with the owner’s eyes.
GM kept all the details of the vehicle to a minimum, especially since it’s still a concept, but the FNR said to have the ability to charge itself wirelessly. Enjoy more pics after the break.
