The environment temperature is used to adjust the partition coefficients of
Type 1 chemicals and the degradation rate constants of all chemicals.
It is not permissible to enter a zero value for either the area or the depth (i.e.,
height) of air. The area of the water must be less than or equal to the area of
the air, to prevent a negative area of soil. The area of the water may be set
to zero to simulate a land-only region. The area fraction of vegetation is the
land area supporting vegetation. In this model, the vegetation does not cover
the soil, but is treated as floating above the soil.
The wind and water velocities are used to calculate the advection residence time
of the air and water, and the long-range transport potential of the chemical.
The volume fractions define the relative proportions of sub-compartments for
each medium.
