There are a number of temples in and around Khao Takiab, the most popular being Khao Takiab temple itself, commonly referred to as "Monkey Mountain". There are a number of macaques that have made the temple grounds their home and have got quite used to tourists. Be careful though as they will grab anything, especially handbags and cameras, and watch out with small children as these animals are still wild.
The stair climb (right) rewards you with a great view from the top, those looking for an easier option can drive up around the back. They have been building in the temple grounds at the top of the hill for a number of years now, it still doesnt seem to be complete but that does not detract from the great views and the beauty of the temple and statues themselves.
There are many more temples around Khao Takiab, we will be bringing you information and images on these shortly.
