a great number of sentences in english begins with "it". it is not the real subject of the sentence since it carries noreal information and can be called an empty subject. it is present because every english sentence has to contain a subject and a verb. in thai sentences, however, a subject can be left out when it is understood what the subject is and thai sentences rarely begin with มัน which is the word often used to translate "it".
