I agree with your recommended update. GATEP should be kept equally or less than IN voltage. When GATEP>IN, GATEP is likely to get damaged.
We should pay attention to GATEP pin during initialization of the dvi card where it’s set to 0V/100uA. When GATEP is float and suddenly closed during dvi initialization, there will be a glitch on the GATEP pin that might cause it to be higher than IN pin. Damage may occur.
