in english it is the position of the noun phrase the man and the dog in the sentence that tell one whether the phrase is the subject or object of the verb, but in hungarian ,however, a noun or a noun phrase may appear either before or following the verb in a sentence and be recognized as the subject or object in either position due to the fact that it is marked with a bound morpheme (the suffix [t] in hungarian) as being the direct object. so both examples below mean the same thing, even though the position of the noun phrase meaning 'the man' is different with respect to the verb meaning 'sees'
