In general, the present study found the phenolic
concentrations to be highest among the ethyl acetate extracts,
followed by the methanol and the water extracts (Table 1). These
findings are in line with those of Khole et al. (2014) and Elzaawely
et al. (2005), who found ethyl acetate extracts to have the highest
phenolic contents. In comparison to other Ornithogalum species,
the total phenolic contents of O. narbonense found in the present
study are higher than those reported for Ornithogalum sintenisii
(Ebrahimzadeh et al., 2010), but lower than those reported for
Ornithogalum cuspidatum (Delazar et al., 2010).
