Also, Thais respect all religions? How about people who do not believe in any of the major religions? People who are agnostic, atheist or follow an obscure religion such as Mormonism face difficulties here. Thais are not so tolerant when those people write 'none' under 'religion' at government offices. "No religion, no ID card" were the official's words.
I love Thailand. I really do. I respect Thais and Thai culture. But it isn't perfect here, nor is the USA or my own country of birth, Holland. So let's not pretend it is...
