Then facilities (1)–(3) are not suitable for NAA of the laps for
above mentioned reasons. On the contrary tests performed on the
DONA5 facility (primarily assigned for neutron transmutation-
doping of silicon)confirmed that this can be successfully used for
NAA of the lamps. All of there sults described be low refer to this
facility.DONA5 can accommodate cylindrical samples measuring
up to ∅78 mm300mm.The case containing sample stravels at
about 5mm/s from upper insert position to the standard position
in the channel(nearmiddlehorizontalplaneofreactorcore)and
then returns immediately with the same velocity. The case rotates
around its vertical axis to improve irradiation homogeneity.
Receivedthermal fluence is about 1016 cm2, which corresponds to
an irradiation time at the standard position of about five minutes.
Fluence dependson sample position and core configuration and it
is measured with activation detectors that include an Hg standard
sample for every in dividual lamp sample.
