As can be observed fromFig. 3, the roots had a double peak distribu
tion: shorter roots are centred at 2.79 ± 0.18 cm and longer roots a
8.98 ± 0.07 cm for the untreated seeds. For the plasma treated seeds
the distribution of roots is shifted towards higher lengths as compared
with the untreated samples. This is more obvious for the shorter roots
which have the centre of the distribution at 3.47 ± 0.17 cm, while the
distribution of the longer roots is centred at 9.23 ± 0.1 cm. The one-
way ANOVA analysis of the data showed that themeans are significantly
different for the shorter roots, with a p-value of 0.025, while themeans
for the longer roots are not statistically different at the 0.05 level (p =
0.064).
