a) Samples Preparation
Covering a wide range of size, two hundred
apples of red delicious variety were taken. Three human
experts trained in the field of size-based manual grading
of this particular variety of apples were given the
samples. So four grades A, B, C and D having 25
samples each was selected. Fifteen samples in each
grade were taken as reference samples that were
commonly agreed upon by all the experts. These
samples were used for training the K-NN based sizeclassifier
as per the following details.
