British Council China Scholarship

The British Council in China is offering up to fifteen scholarships as part of Generation UK, a campaign to encourage and support UK student mobility to China. The British Council China Scholarship is for UK students (British passport holders, or Irish passport holders for Northern Ireland domiciled) to undertake a period of study at a university in the People’s Republic of China.
What’s included?
Full scholarships will cover tuition fees, accommodation, a monthly living stipend (between RMB 1,200 and 1,500/month/person, depending on location) and medical insurance.
Where can I study?
Scholarships can be used at any mainland Chinese institution approved by the Ministry of Education to accept foreign students. A full list of approved institutions accepting candidates can be found at: http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/universitysearchen.aspx
What can I study?
Scholarships can be used for one-year programmes with tuition fees of 30,000 RMB/year or less. A list of non-degree programmes can be searched for at: http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/programsearchen.aspx

The British Council China Scholarship is funded by the British Council China and administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). The initial application and selection process, including supporting applications to Chinese universities, is handled by CSC. Students already holding offers from Chinese universities can also apply. Candidates successful in reaching the final selection stage will be interviewed by the British Council.
Application materials should be submitted to CSC no later than 28 April 2014.
