The target protein used in this investigation is human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), one of four members of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family. The EGFR family (HER1, HER2, HER3, and HER4) are known to participate in cell growth, proliferation, motility, and differentiation by triggering a serious signal transduction cascade when specific ligands bind to receptors. EGFR not only influences normal cell growth and motion but also leads to the formation of cancer. The overexpression of HER2 is an important hallmark in various cancers, and the most relevant works have predicted cancer outcomes by examining over 26 000 patients using many testing techniques such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunohistochemical (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR),although the complex signal network is not completely understood.
