4. Conclusion In conclusion, a 2D-CCC system was developed and three prenylflavonoids were successfully isolated from Indonesian medicinal herb A. altilis. With this 2D-CCC and a pair of two-phase solvent systems composed of n-bexane ethy acetate-methanol-water(5:5:7:3 and 5:5:6.5:35. vlvlvlv) about a 500 mg amount of the crude extract was separated. yield ing 9 mg of compound 1, 28 mg of compound 2 and 18 mg of compound 3 all at a purity of over 95%. These results i that the present 2D-CCC method could obviously improve the resolution and separation time and was a practical approach to resolve problems caused by peak overlap. However, this sys tem was an initial attempt to increase the separation power of CCC and insistent efforts should be paid to improve the present system in the subsequent studies.
