MicroMag 2900 Alternating Force Gradient Magnetometer (AGM) is a highly-sensitive, computer-controlled susceptibility measurement system. It is capable of measuring the magnetic properties of a wide range of sample materials. In contrast to the VSM, in which the sample is caused to vibrate by an electromechanical transducer with a fixed frequency, the AGM uses an alternating field-gradient to generate a periodical force on the sample in a variable or static DC-field. This force is proportional to the field-gradient and to the magnetic moment of the sample.
A cryostat is available for measurement between ca. 15 K - 300 K.
