“Health Impact Assessment is the process of social learning, analyzing and forecasting both positive and negative effects on public health that might be caused by policies, programs or one of activities. It helps to conduct the projects during the same place and time with the application of various tools and processes involved appropriately. In order to support the decisions that will be beneficial to public health, both in short and long term.”
The Health Impact Assessment in Thailand began to drive earnestly during the health care reform in the year 2543 B.E. and was placed on National Health Act which announced and became effective on August 50,2550 B.E. The intent of Health Impact Assessment was not wish to be the project license but aim to provide a process of social learning for making the best decision to well-being of societies.
