Inhibition of linoleic acid auto-oxidation
The antioxidant activities in term anti-lipid peroxidation of each sample fraction were measured according to the method of Osawa and Namiki (1985). The antioxidant activity was calculated as follows: antioxidant activity (%) = [(ΔA234 of control-ΔA234 of sample)/ΔA234 of control] x 100. A value of 100% indicates the strongest antioxidant activity. EC50 value (mg/ml) is the effective concentration providing 50% antioxidant activity and was calculated from the graph of linear regression analysis.
