deed, disgusting and prohibited by Islam, it is imposed on people and is forbidden, except when there is no other choice or alternative to restore rights and repulse oppression practiced against the feeble. The Holy Quran confirms: "Fighting is prescribed upon you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 216).
It is a Quranic provision and an absolute resolution in Islam that fighting ‘war’ is loathsome for human kind. However, there are people who are agitated by their sick spirits, instigated by the Satan, prompted by their avarices and desires to possess what belongs to other human beings. For this purpose, they collect their supporters around them, or recruit armies and gangs. In this situation, it becomes imperative for the party that is exposed to aggression to defend itself by all means. Here, fighting becomes imposed on the aggrieved party that has to defend itself. Fighting, therefore, is loathsome but simultaneously it is a duty and a necessity. In this way, war becomes a means for peace, or a means to protect rights, to maintain justice and to establish peace.
