Bandera, et al discussed the use of robot assist hysterectomies in cervical cancer and ovarian cancer to be a feasible option to a more invasive surgery. In early cervical cancer, the robotic assist can be used for the fertility sparing radical trachlectomy. It is reported that during the robotic assisted surgery there is excellent visualization of the vasculature and parametrial tissues, which must be isolated during this procedure, while still offering a minimally invasive techniques that is likely to help preserve fertility as well as speed recovery.
