Price is the significant criteria for vendor selection and it is a decision of procurement, not sales, fair or not fair depends on the service rendered by contractor at the beginning warrant them to charge us premium price or not. If they work with us and support us from the beginning we can consider giving priority to them or even premium price which is a bit higher than price of the lowest one. But how much difference the price is depending on procurement decision. If sales really want to use certain contractor then sales must work with the contractor to meet procurement’s acceptable price.
