The Border Consortium (TBC)
is recruiting a Finance Director
TBC, a non-profit, non-government organization, is an alliance of partners working together with displaced and conflict-affected people of Burma/Myanma to address humanitarian needs and to support community
driven solutions in pursuit of peace and development.
It is a time of change and transition in Myanmar and especially on the Thailand/Myanmar border. As TBC strategically adapts to these changes. It is both anb exciting and challenging tiem to contribute tothe strategic management of TBC.
TBC is incorporated in England as a Company Limited by Gaurantee, and is registered with the UK Charity Commision. However TBC’s operations and 120 employees are in Thailand while an official presence (with office, programme and staff) in Myanmar is being developed. The anual budget is approximately USD 35 million, mainly expended on food and shelter materials for refugees and deplaced people, but also on development activities focused on preparing refugees for eventual repatriation.
Key responsibilities of the Finance Director include;
- Collaborative leadership and representation
- A strategic approach to financial planning, management and reporting
- Grants contract management and compliance
- Finance team development & management
Key approach-oriented competencies required include;
- Team-orientation in the management of the Finance Department and with the Senior Management Team,
Board, and with other areas of the organisation
- Ability to bring visibility and understanding to forward-looking financial analysis with a focus on
disaggregation and decentralisation of financial planning and mangement.
- Ability to drive the organization’s expansion from a one-country operation to two countries
- An innovative approach to financial and administrative systems enhancement
- Service-orientation in financial management
- Demonstrated experience with institutional donors
