While in the East side of country, lame Chabang port and Klong Toei port have indirect sailing routes, which is considered as a disadvantage comparing to open-sea ports in the neighboring countries. This causes relatively higher shipping costs in Thailand but could be alleviated to some extent by facilitating shipping and handling cargo in fastest possible manner to reduce the overall shipping costs. On the plus side, we still have advantages in product variety, compared to the neighboring countries. After taking all aspects into consideration, the shipping costs in Thailand are still relatively low and competitive, gaining the upper hand in shipment in the region.
