The lecture discussed about the loads that engineers must consider when building a structure.
The load has two types which are static loads and dynamic loads.
The static loads concern about forces that don’t change. Whereas, the dynamic loads are that change abruptly.
The static loads can divide into dead loads and live loads. The dead loads are the weight distribution which the structure must endure. While the live loads are other weights which a structure must support or change from the weight distribution to concentrate at one point.
Moreover, the dynamic loads are the forces change suddenly like tidal waves, hurricanes, or earthquakes. Therefore, the engineer must consider features which allow the building to withstand or can counteract an immediate change of force that is unpredictable.
