4.Lessons and Reforms
The 1997 crisis provided many lessons about potential risks and weaknesses that might not have been well understood prior to the cisis or might not have had enough attention paid to. This has led to reforms and improvements in many areas that should lessen the risk of a similar crisis in the future. However, many of these reforms are still incomplete and will require addittional measures or legal frameworks to make them fully effective. This section describes some of the main areas of reforms or improvements.
