As you learned in this book’s first chapter, W.D. Ross argued that we have prima facie facie duties to moral action, including beneficence (thing we do for the benefit of others), nonmaleficence (thing we refrain from doing that might harm others) and justice. These duties are particularly helpful to keep in mind when making ethical decisions in journalism.
