A project which has been ongoing within a higher education institution is the
teaching of CP using what might be called transformational or critical pedagogy. This
is defined as an approach which encourages students to critique, question and evaluate
knowledge using experience and situating knowledge within a context. This pedagogical
approach has been richly covered within other literatures – it is used here as a
frame to understand how learners may transform understanding. I present a case study
of learning in the box below to demonstrate the issues on the curriculum, the transfer
of knowledge and the approach to learning which is taken.
