Stroke is one of the most disabling chronic conditions, and its motor sequelae are a primary reason for the disabling effect.1,2 The rate and extent of recovery post stroke depends largely upon the initial degree of impairment, on an intact cortex adjacent to the lesion, and on the timing and intensity of the rehabilitation.
